Our diverse experience in this field began in the 1980’s as the international tourist and business boom gave rise to demand for independent high end hotels complete with business conference centers, banquet halls, restaurants and shopping areas. By 2010, Reliance had completed over 750 hotel rooms and associated conference spaces. As the market evolved and baby boomers turned into empty nesters, high rise condominium construction became more common. Our vast experience in this domain ranges from affordable residential units for first-time buyers to condominium developments for seasoned buyers, complete with high-end amenities. In 2009, the Canadian housing market emerged from the recession and by 2010, Reliance had completed or had under construction over 3,000 condo units in eastern Canada.

The office building at 1155 Sherbrooke West was converted into a four star hotel operated by Sofitel, a French hotel operator of luxury hotels. The entire building's finishes and mechanical/electrical systems were stripped and discarded, leaving only the building's structure. New mechanical, electrical and life safety systems were installed to accommodate hotel room occupancy. An elaborate curtain wall skin and new extensions were added to the building to upgrade its aesthetics and provide meeting room and conference centre space. Construction also included a complete main kitchen for service to 258 rooms and 8,000 square feet of banquet facilities / meeting room space. The total square footage of the building, upon the project's completion was 226,000 square feet.

This new modern student residence in downtown Toronto features 194,000 sq.ft of student accommodation and at-grade retail, in a 30-storey building offering a mix of two, three and four bedroom units to house a total of 593 students. The two-storey podium offers a mix of amenity services to enhance the student experience. In addition, “Pod Lounges” located every third floor are designed to provide congregation space for smaller student gatherings, as well as provide a unique design expression to the building’s main façade.

Located on the corner of Redpath Avenue and Soudan Avenue, this 22-storey rental tower in the Mount Pleasant West area of Toronto includes a 3-storey podium, totalling 180 suites. It features state-of-the-art amenities, ranging from a rooftop party room, pool, terraces, a large fourth floor fitness center, guest suite, private dining room, and a business lounge area, all on the ground floor. There are four underground levels of parking that provide a total of 144 spaces and 180 bicycle spaces.

This 6 storey, 84 unit condo conversion from a former dye factory in Montreal's Plateau Mont-Royal district included the complete stripping ofthe building to its bare structure fora new facade of precast, balconies, brick and floor to ceiling windows. Retrofit of a 1909 paper factory into an upscale loft style condominium in downtown Montreal overlooking a park. Originally six storeys, a complete reinforcement of the existing structure was necessary to carry an additional four floors. The building houses 98 residential units with 12' 0" exposed concrete ceilings and columns, exposed brick walls, and bamboo hardwood floors. Each unit is equipped with european kitchens, appliances, and plumbing fixtures.
